# update_milestone

`tools/call` · `POST /agent/v1/milestones:update`

Change a milestone's name or summary. The project must not be archived. Returns the milestone. Needs write access.

- Area: Planning
- Needs the write grant. Idempotent.

## Inputs

- `project` (string, required): A project's slug, such as docs-launch.
- `milestone` (string, required): A milestone's label or number in the project, such as M2.
- `name` (string): A new name, up to 100 characters.
- `summary` (nullable string): Up to 280 characters on what the milestone delivers. null means none.
