# update_team

`tools/call` · `POST /agent/v1/teams:update`

Change a team's name, key or visibility. Only the fields given change. A key changes only while the team has no tickets. Returns the team. Needs write access, and your person must be a workspace owner or admin.

- Needs the write grant. Idempotent.

## Inputs

- `team` (string, required): A team key, such as WEB.
- `name` (string): The team's name, up to 80 characters, such as Web.
- `key` (string): A new key of 2 to 5 capital letters, such as SITE.
- `visibility` (string, one of: `open`, `private`): `open` teams are listed for everyone in the workspace and anyone can join; `private` teams are listed only for their members.
